Advantages

1. Nitrile Gloves have superior chemical resistance to other disposable gloves. This is due to the fact that Nitrile Rubber has better resistance to chemicals, acids & oils over against natural rubber.

2.Nitrile Gloves are also powder free, these further reduces the risk of allergens and dealing with messy powder. The gloves also have a chlorinated finish applied to the glove making donning & doffing easier, even when the hands are wet. These makes these gloves very useful in situations such as food environments where frequent glove changes are required. Some nitrile gloves are double chlorinated on the inside, providing a smooth finish to the glove which allows the glove to be donned whilst the user has wet hands.

3.Due to the use of synthetic rubber Nitrile Gloves are not only used for strength and durability but also have enhanced flexibility making them the glove of choose when dexterity and sensitivity is required. These gloves mould to the shape of your hand making a comfortable fit and reducing hand fatigue, Nitrile Gloves also have a lower level of friction, meaning that these gloves can be worn for longer durations than other gloves.

4.Another benefit of Nitrile is that due to it being a man-made substance the price of it remains more stable than latex as it is not subject to changes in climate & weather and are not subject to increases when the monsoons in Malaysia prevent the harvesting of the natural rubber.

5.Nitrile Gloves also have a longer shelf life than some other forms of disposable gloves meaning that there is less possibility of wastage. They also have the option of coming with micro textured finishes which gives the glove a non-slip finish for either wet or dry use.

General Classification

Industrial Grade:

Industrial-grade nitrile gloves are best suited for applications that involve handling harsh chemicals and solvents.

Industries that would use this grade of nitrile glove include:

Automotive

Janitorial

Food Services

Along with chemical resistance, an important feature of industrial-grade gloves is a high level of puncture resistance.

While industries like food services have specific requirements that gloves need to meet, they are not as stringent as medical-grade gloves.

Medical Grade:

Medical gloves are used in areas where there's a risk of contact with blood-borne pathogens or environmental contaminants.

Also known as examiner gloves, medical gloves are used in:

Hospitals

Laboratories

Cleamrooms

Dental Offices

Since the risks are so high, medical grade gloves must be rigorously tested and have to meet specific guidelines from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

To read the full document "Guidance for Industry and FDA Staff: Medical Glove Guidance Manual"

Medical-grade gloves, like any medical device, are regulated in the United States by the FDA, which has authority to regulate medical devices before and after they reach the marketplace.

Medical devices can be anything from dental floss to heart valves.
